Isang Litrong Liwanag (A Liter of Light): A Social Entrepreneurship Project

In my opinion, the best type of business is that which exemplifies social entrepreneurship.

That’s why I have high respect for people who actively come up with businesses that seek social value first before profits.

And just recently, I’ve learned that Illac Diaz and his MyShelter Foundation has launched a sustainable lighting project called Isang Litrong Liwanag (A Liter of Light).

I’m very much impressed with what this project is trying to accomplish, which is to light up a million homes nationwide by 2012 through the use of Solar Bottle Bulbs.

Indeed, this is a fine example of how innovation on simple things can go a long way to help millions of people – a true mark of an entrepreneur who finds solutions to problems that change the world.
