I have been swamped with work for the past few years that I rarely have time to watch television anymore.
Nevertheless, I don’t really regret missing my favorite TV shows and do you know why?
It’s because the “work” that I’m busy with are actually things that I love doing.
I remember reading somewhere: Find a job that you like and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
If you know who said that, please tell me so that I could send him a thank you note for being one of the reasons why I’m enjoying my life now.
Anyway, I’m doing my usual web surfing (is this my new television?) when I stumbled upon this very inspirational video about the secrets of successful people. It features Richard St. John, a self-described average guy who found success in doing what he love.
The video below is taken from one of his talks during TED: Technology – Entertainment – Design.
TED is a yearly gathering of the greatest thinkers and doers of our time. TED’s website contains dozens of inspirational and motivational talks so I suggest that you visit it often.
Anyway, to give you a sample of what TED offers, below is the three-minute talk of Richard St. John as he tells his audience the things that lead people to success.
Update: Watch the part 2 of this talk when Richard St. John returns to TED after 4 years to teach us that Success is a Continuous Journey.
More inspirational videos are coming your way when you subscribe to Ready To Be Rich.
Great to see you are doing something that you enjoy! It really is so important.. life is to short to spend your life in a job that you hate.
Great to see you found TED If you search on youtube you can find a lot of the TED talks.
All the best with your success

I found TED a couple of months ago through the recommendation of a friend who’s a frequent watcher of their videos. I’m now slowly becoming a big fan of TED and I plan to feature more of them here.
Thanks Tom for visiting and all the best to you too.

Hi Fitz. I’m a TED fan too. I’ve been watching TED talks for almost a year now. The talks that fascinate me the most are on how businesses are changing rapidly. I recommend Jeff Skoll’s talk on social entrepreneurship – http://www.ted.com/talks/jeff_skoll_makes_movies_that_make_change.html.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers!

Hi Fitz,
I got to your amazing blogs just yesterday and I am reading since then.
Though, it seems quite late but i did not see anyone mentioning about “Confucious”
whose words you were quoting and requested to remind you of his name.
Confucious was the one who quoted
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.â€
But I guess to send him “thank you note”, you must be knowing address of heaven.. 🙂
Confucious existed between 551 – 479 BC. He has a great Chinese philospher and his thoughts were developed into a system called Confucianism..
I feel you already thanked him but reflecting some of this thoughts in your blogs.
This post is so old, I dnt know whether this comment will reach you or not but I wish to thank you for creating this.
Hi Vaibhav. Thanks for the comment and thanks for sharing that it was Confucius who said that. 😀
